Non-profit Board and Executive Director Consulting

Who’s in Charge Anyway? The ED or the Board of Directors?

So much confusion abounds in nonprofits that have not been properly trained in governance and basic fiduciary responsibilities.

Well-intentioned professionals join the board or are hired as executive directors, who are passionate about the organization’s mission, only to find they know very little about what it means to serve in this capacity. Not knowing what they don’t know, they could very easily put the organization they value so highly at great risk.

Having served as co-chair of a non-profit steering committee, and board chair of a non-profit, Reni Bumpas served for eight years as an executive director, participating in numerous trainings that then equipped her to train her own board as well as the boards of other non-profits in addition to consulting executive directors.
